The Company FOCUS electronics GmbH, Leipzig, has received, within the program “Europe promotes Saxony” for the development of parts of the MEBW-60 system, a grant from the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF, projects “AUTOKOST”, “EMICPRO” and Micro3D) & still receives them (project “EB-Toolkit”).

The actual project “EB-Toolkit” addresses the improvements to crucial technology components for selective electron beam melting (SEBM) that are necessary for broader applicability of the economically advantageous electron beam process. This concerns in particular the electron beam source and its energy supply as well as high-resolution, real-time methods of process monitoring. Within the framework of this project, innovative concepts are to be investigated and prepared for technological use in generative manufacturing processes.
